Sadly i report that our dear friend Margaret Simcox passed away on Saurday 24th October 2020. Margaret was a major force in the development of the Village Hall and the Stainton in Bloom group. Our condolences go to the Family.

Stay Home and Stay Safe

Stainton is currently in Tier 3 regulations, but will raise to National Lockdown on Thursday 5th November. This has already hampered children's fun at Halloween, and will have an even greater impact going forward. Bonfire and Fireworks parties are only allowed to be attended by the immediate household - no guests can mix inside or outside.

The Rememberance Service at St Winifrid's Church is cancelled.

Margaret Shelton was a big part of Stainton and was loved and respected by many. Therefore the Church wardens, Kath and Denise, would like to organised a memorial service for her, when the pandemic has passed. Further details will follow, nearer the time,

It is with great sadness that I am letting you know that Margaret Shelton passed away peacefully yesterday morning of Covid 19.

Margaret and her husband Mike had lived in the village for about 25yrs.Many of you will remember seeing Margaret walking around the village with her little dog, a fox terrier.

Although she didn't come to the regular Coffee Mornings she came to some of our special events and really enjoyed one of our Afternoon Tea Events especially voting for the 'bes...

Eric Simcox

Sad news I'm afraid. Our dear friend Eric Simcox passed away on Friday afternoon. Margaret and his Family were with him at the care home in Beauchief, Sheffield. His death was due to a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Our condolences ar with Margaret and the Family at this time.

Pat Davies

Sad news I'm afraid. Pat Davies has passed away following a fall at home. Pat has lived on School Lane, Stainton for many years. A service is to be held at St Winifrids Church, Stainton on Wednesday 13th November at 12:00 noon.

Recreation Field Consultation

Thank you to all the residents who participated in the consultation regarding the development of the facilities on the recreation field. The Council are now in the process of looking into developing the suggestions and seeking funding to enhance the area.
