Stainton Parish includes the villages of Stainton, Wilsic and Lambcote Grange. The Parish Council is made up of five elected Councillors who all offer their services voluntarily to the community. The Parish Clerk who is the only paid employee of the Council deals with all administrative duties.

The Parish Council meets regularly to discuss and take action on matters local to these villages. Residents can attend to raise matters important to them, and wherever possible the Council will take action. The Council also communicates with the quarries about any local issues.

It is responsible for the allocation of the parish precept, and maintaining the open green spaces across the parish, including the playing field, pond, and surroundings.

It also feeds back to Doncaster Council about local issues, including highways and footpaths, and makes representations on local planning applications.

It is responsible for maintaining and paying for the defibrillator and the wifi hub at the village hall.
